This is an Ibanez pedal effect.

The Tube Screamer is a distortion unit. It doesn`t contain any tubes, it`s all semiconductors inside! Ibanez has tried to emulate the tube distortion with a semiconductor design. That means there is a diode in the loop back of an OpAmp. That`s not a bad idea and the result isn`t bad, but you can`t compare is with real tube distortion. It sounds ugly, when the battery is low.

Many guitarists like the Tube Screamer series, the early models (TS9, TS808) have become vintage effects.
